    Operating Analyses of the HTGRs by the Engineering Simulator - Prof. Dr. LANG Minggang - Associate Professor of INET Tsinghua University
     
    The engineering simulator for the modular high temperature gas-cooled reactors (HTGRs) was developed in the last few years by INET, Tsinghua University, supported by the National Science and Technology Major Project. In the research of the engineering simulator, the key models of the reactor core were successfully built including the 3D multi-group neutronics, helium flow network, solid heat transfer network, coupled calculations and real-time simulations, which were also integrated into the full scope simulator for the HTR-PM. Along with the construction of the HTR-PM, the function of the engineering simulator is extended to the operating analyses of the HTR-PM, which are more helpful for defining procedures. Moreover, new engineering simulator is under development to investigate the operating characteristics of multi-module HTGRs

    A Simulator Interface for Accident Analysis Codes such as MAAP, MELCOR and RELAP - DMS
     
    The main subject is the introduce of SIM (Simulation and Interactive Modeling) and TVP (Transient Visualization and Post-Processing) which is a simulator interface for accident analysis codes such as MAAP, MELCOR and RELAP. SIM is an Interactive Graphical User Interface (IGUI) for transient and accident analysis codes (currently MAAP, MELCOR, RELAP and ISS-RELAP/SCDAP). SIM turns the driver code and existing code models into a two-way interactive desktop simulator, analysis and visualization system. SIM allows the user to interactively set up accident sequences and to interactively change the status of system components (i.e. trip a pump or open a valve).  TVP is a stand-alone replay system for pre-calculated accident sequences.
