• Welcome

The first biannual meeting of 2017 of the ICC Commission on Customs and Trade Facilitation will take place on Wednesday 17- Thursday18 May 2017 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Dubai has consistently been ranked as one of the top global financial, trading and logistical hubs. As such the meeting, kindly co-hosted by ICC UAE and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, provides a good venue to strengthen the Commission’s membership ties in the region.

The meeting of the Commission will be held back-to-back with the Customs and Trade Facilitation Forum co-organized by ICC, ICC UAE and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the same venue on the morning of Wednesday 17 May 2017. Members participating in the Commission meeting are kindly invited to attend the Forum (AED 150 - approximately USD 40 - for members, including a networking lunch). To register for the Forum please visit the ICC UAE website.

The Commission on Customs and Trade Faciliation has arranged for a tour of the Jebel Ali Free Trade Zone – one of the fastest growing free trade zones – to take place the day before the Commission meeting during the afternoon of Tuesday 16 May 2017.

The mandate of the Commission is to promote simplified customs policies and procedures, as well as other measures to facilitate international trade.

The Commission meeting will provide an opportunity for global business and organizations to meet and discuss how best to voice business concerns and identify opportunities for smoother cross-border trade flows.

Building on ICC’s global network and influence, the Commission meeting will survey priorities and projects for 2017 and shape ICC’s engagement in a number of important international policy forums.

Please refer to the preliminary agenda for more details on the meeting and note that all relevant documents and policy papers will be sent to members and national committees with the final agenda in due course.

We look forward to seeing you in Dubai!
