  • Frequently Asked Questions

    Q: What should you wear?

A: We will be visiting active mine sites on both days of the workhop. You are required to wear closed toe shoes, full length pants and a shirt with some sleeves (t-shirts are okay).

If you wear shorts, sandles or other not suitable clothing you will not be able to attend the mine tours and will not have enough contact time to get your inservice credit for the workshop.

Q: Can I bring my kids to the workshop?

A: In order to faciliate a condusive learning environment for your fellow teachers we do not allow children to attend the workshop.

Q: Can I switch my classes?

A: You can log into the website and alter your registration at any time up to three days before the workshop starts. On July 7th this option will disapear and you will no longer be able to alter your registration. If a session you would like to attend is full when you register we recommend checking back as teachers will cancel leading up to the workshop and spots can become available at any time. As a rule of thumb we will not change any teachers registrations after July 7th, so you will not be able to alter your schedule at the workshop.

Q: Do I need to bring a lunch or provide transportation to the mine tours?

A: We provide all meals during the workshop, this includes breakfast, lunch and snacks. While we do our best to provide a broad selection, if you have specific dietary needs we recommend bringing your own lunch. We will have a limited supply of vegetarian lunches… if you are not a vegetarian please do not take the vegetarian meals as there are those who will be looking for them.

Q: Do I need to do anything to get inservice credit?

In order to get credit for the workshop you must select that you are taking the workshop for credit during the registration process. In addition to that you must:

    • Be present in the classroom when role call is taken
    • Sign in at the credit desk each day of the workshop
    • Fill out an “exit ticket” each day of the workshop
