    The eSCT launch event is a public workshop to present the eScience Coordination Team (eSCT) - a project and service funded by swissuniversities to provide support for research IT and eScience across the country. Through eSCT, any research team can request support on a range of topics including:

     Consultancy 

     Training 

     Development & code improvement 

     Porting to new infrastructures & cloud migration 

     Tool & support service development 

     Testing & benchmarking across infrastructures 

     Specialised data analysis 

     External funding proposal development 

    This event presents eSCT to researchers, eScience support staff and other members of the Swiss scientific community. It will include presentation of current projects and of the eSCT service catalogue, to help research teams benefit from the support available. 

    The event is free to attend but requires registration. It runs from 9:15 to 14:00 on the 24th of November, hosted by the University of Bern. Following the event, attendees will be invited to lunch with the project team to continue discussion and make new connections.

    The event will be held in Room A-126, Shanzeneckstrasse 1, 3012 Bern, Switzerland. Details of the room are available here and a location plan here - it is on floor Untergeschoss 1 (U1, Basement) in block A of the UniS building. 

    The venue is very close to Bern's main trains station (SBB/CFF/FFS)

    The event will include catered coffee breaks, and SwiNG, the Swiss national Grid association will offer lunch to participants from 13:00 to 14:00.
