    Creating engagement with visitors to your Museum, Art, Cultural, or Heritage Institution

    Do you want to understand why people engage online through Social Media?

    We will be looking at some basic components that constitue the eco-system of engagement, and discuss how Social Media can be put to use in the Museums, Arts and Culture Sector, to successfully initiate continually engaged communities.

    Some of the topics we'll cover include:

    - Understanding the mechanics behind successful long term engagement
    - Potential barriers to engagement
    - Understanding some of the motivations of why people engage online

    Your hosts for the afternoon will be Joanne Jacobs, an experienced Social Media veteran, former University Lecturer, and innovator in Social Media, and Farhan Rehman, who heads up the Social Media Team at Total Media, and sits on the London Advisory Board for Social Media Week.
