    Registration Information

    The conference will commence on the 20 October 2010 with an evening opening reception. The plenary sessions will take place on 21-22 October 2010.

    Terms and Conditions

    BioMed Central authors and reviewers registration

    A special rate is available for all authors that have published their work with BioMed Central since 2007 and for all reviewers who have reviewed BioMed Central manuscripts in the same period. All current BioMed Central Editors, Associate Editors and Editorial Board Members are also eligible for this rate.

    Group rate registration

    A group rate of a minimum of 8 people is available. If you are interested in purchasing a group rate, please contact the registration team directly on events@biomedcentral.com. Please note that members of the group must all work at the same institution and payment will need to be made for all members of the group at the same time.


    Payment must be made in advance by credit card. MasterCard/Visa/Electron/Amex are all accepted.

    Failure to pay before the event will result in admittance being refused.

    Confirmation and further instructions

    Confirmation of registration will be sent by email to delegates whose payment has been received. Further instructions will be sent out in September, by email, to assist you with your visit to Edinburgh. Therefore please ensure you submit a current email address when registering.


    Cancellations on or before 7 May 2010 will receive a full refund. Cancellations before 6 August 2010 will receive a full refund less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds can be made for cancellations received after 6 August 2010 but substitutions may be made at any time free of charge. Please send an email to events@biomedcentral.com notifying us of any cancellations or name changes.


    The registration fee do not include insurance participants are advised to take out adequate personal insurance to cover travel, accommodation, cancellation and personal effects

    The welcome reception (20 October 2010) and conference dinner (21 October 2010) are included in the delegate registration fee

    Conference dinner

    The conference dinner will take place on the evening of Thursday 21 October at the historical venue with a twist Dynamic Earth

    Dynamic Earth is a contemporary venue with a unique heritage twist offering stunning 360 degree views across Edinburgh’s picturesque cityscape, Royal Park and stunning Salisbury Crags. Dynamic Earth is at the hub of culture, politics and history.

    The ‘Parasite to prevention’ conference Bursary Awards are supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. This will help researchers and graduate students from low-income and lower-middle income countries to attend this event and present their research.
