    The retreat from Globalisation

    The William Beveridge Memorial Lecture will be given by Lord William Wallace (Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office).

    Other speakers will include Sarah OlneyDavid Howarth (former MP for Cambridge), Sir Lawrence Freedman (Emeritus Professor of War Studies at King's College London), Ed Davey MPDaisy CooperCaron LindsayJoyce OnstadHelen FlynnSeth Thevoz plus others drawn from within and outside the Liberal Democrats.

    We have rejigged the programme to give you a chance to discuss the General Election and its aftermath. We will also hold a Leadership hustings and Vince Cable will be sharing his vision for the party with us and answering questions. If any other candidates come forward before Saturday they will, of course, be invited to take part.

    Coffee will be served from 10am with the Conference itself starting at 10.30am. It will finish at 5pm.

    Food and drink

    Registration includes refreshments on arrival, lunch with a choice of drinks, plus refreshments during the afternoon.

    Early Bird rate

    You are welcome to book at the Early Bird rate which will be on offer until 5th July. But you might like to pay at the Full price rate to help us to support more people to attend on the Concession rate.


    We have kept the concession rate as low as possible, and we have decided to bring the criteria more in line with the ones used for Federal Conferences. You may book at the Concession rate if one of these applies:

    • You are in full-time education
    • You are receiving state benefits due to being unemployed, the dependent spouse of an unemployed person, or you are on income support 
    • If your main source of income is the state pension.
    • If you are wageless or on a low income
