    TechCrunchTalk Nordic

    27 May 2009, Stockholm, Sweden

TechCrunch will host TechCrunchTalk Nordic on the 27 May 2009 which will include an afternoon of panel discussions and presentations followed by networking drinks reception.

The Nordic TechCrunch Talk is aimed at bringing together the startup, Angel and VC communities to debate the next phase of the startup world in Scandinavia, Finland and the Baltic countries. It will feature three quick-fire panel discussions with the hottest entrepreneurs and investors selected for their leading views on the market.

    Themes for discussion

"Minipreneurship" in web development - can a great web service be build on very small foundations?

Inter-change between Swedish/Nordic startups and the Baltic startups

Is it a 'greater regional market' or are startups just focused on their own immediate home markets?

Are Scandinavian VC's mainly helping local startups or are they looking at the greater region?

The Nordic and Baltic's association with "big plays" (Skype, TradeDoubler etc) has given it a special place online - can it hold on to that in the future?

Scandinavia has a cultural history of gender equality - does that apply to tech as well?

Do Nordic and Baltic startups don't think international/global immediately?

Are Nordic and Baltic startups reaching beyond their borders for investors from other European countries?

With the Nordics a leading mobile region, what innovations will come from it next in location awareness?

How do you launch a product in Europe across many markets?

The panel discussions will be followed by casual networking over drinks. Please note that themes for discussion is subject to changes.

    What is it?

TechCrunchTalk is a TechCrunch curated discussion get-together for start-ups in the UK and Europe, which focuses on a number of current and relevant themes for the technology start-up community.  Its aim is to generate debate and a voice for the technology start-up community, to identify trends, themes, issues, challenges and developments within the community, the industry and the local vs. European environment.

It kicks off with an afternoon of discussing a pre-determined set of themes, with Mike Butcher, the editor of TechCrunch UK initiating and moderating the discussions, and finishes off with some drinks and informal networking, with more participants invited to party.

Why should I be part of it?

If you are in the technology business, if you are a start-up and interested in cutting-edge ideas, if you are interested in meeting with entrepreneurs, VC's and Angel investors, and if you read TechCrunch UK or TechCrunch.com regularly, then this is a great opportunity for you to be part of the community and make your voice heard, as well as get new ideas.

TechCrunch events, whether in the UK, US or in Europe are very popular, attended by decision makers, the venture community and dozens of members of the media.

How can I be part of it?

Tickets to the event are a nominal SEK 475 per person - but only available to start-ups, VC's and media. Tickets will be released in April 2009.

If you are a student startup you have the possibility to enter the TechCrunch Pitch competition hosted by official partner Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship. Go to www.sses.se/techcrunchpitch for more information. Winning teams get to pitch at the event!
